No matter where life leads her, Guen always keeps a keen eye out for the unexpected beauty of her natural surroundings—whether it be quiet twists of stream or an unexpected, glowing forest path. Rarely does she leave the house without her camera to capture the next surprise. Back in her studio, oil is her favorite medium, thanks to its luminous, sculptural potential to recreate found treasures. A student at the Art Students League of New York, Guen enjoys continually exploring different means of expressionism through classes, workshops, shows and travel. Her work ranges from painterly landscape (Guen studied with Tim Deibler among others, in Colorado) to—more recently—abstract expressionism.
