Join us and you will find the East Bay Recorder Society is an active group full of lively people who love to play the recorder (and other instruments too, which we indulge in occasional “collegium” playing sessions and at member recitals).
We have ten chapter meeting/playing sessions a year conducted by professionals who provide us with delightfully different music each month. We hold at least one member recital every year. We have a summer play-in and potluck.
We obtained a grant from the American Recorder Society to help fund a collection of music with two to four parts that is appropriate to play for shut-ins. The resulting Gig Book is available to all first time members of EBRS (but additional copies can also be purchased for $20/each).
EBRS has been running a highly successful weekend workshop for more than 25 years in the breathtakingly beautiful portion of the Golden Gate National Recreational area known as “Marin Headlands”.
We definitely love early music, and the EBRS is an Affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society, but we do not limit ourselves. Any good piece written for the recorder is worth our attention.
Joining us is easy. Just click here to go to our membership form, print it, fill it out and mail it in with your check. Then come to the next chapter meeting to play. Your membership begins in September of each year.
